Origin of the amethyst

The Amethyst, which has been used since ancient times, soothes the mind and has a positive effect on the entire body. The amethyst is mainly found in southern Brazil, Mexico and Australia, where it is mainly found in cavities in volcanic rock, also known as Basalt.

Meaning of the amethyst

The name of this healing stone comes from the Greek and means something like "not drunk", as it was previously believed that wearing the stone on your body should protect you from getting drunk. Above all, however, it points to its centuries-long detoxifying effect. Its fascinating colors, which range from soft lilac to a strong dark purple, can be explained by the iron content in the rock.

Effect of the amethyst

For the most part, the stone helps relieve tension, supports breathing, and stimulates digestion and metabolism. It also calms the mind and ensures long-term inner peace. The purple color stimulates the imagination, strengthens concentration and ensures pleasant dreams. It also has a calming effect on the heart and nerves and helps with skin problems and swellings.

Amethyst in drinking water

For internal use, the amethyst should be drunk in conjunction with water on an empty stomach so that it can develop its full effect. Above all, this clears the mind and has a detoxifying effect. Furthermore, the stone brings harmony and inner peace. The amethyst should be cleaned weekly with running water.
