Origin of the red jasper

The jasper is formed when solutions containing silicic acid crystallize out. Its brick-red color symbolizes strength and willpower. Quartz is one of the most important healing stones in the world and is most common in South Africa. It is also being mined in Egypt, Brazil, Australia and even Germany.

In the Bible the jasper is called the most precious stone and therefore also the mother of all precious stones.

The name of this healing stone comes from the Greek word "iaspis", which translates as "speckled stone". The use goes back to ancient Greece, where the stone was used both as a jewelry and as a healing stone. As a healing stone, the jasper was mainly used in ancient Greece for inner harmony.
